”Human Fountain”, 2017 – 2019

Earthy looks for the spiritual behind the material. Like that moment on the hilltop in Porvoo when the heaven seems to open, revealing a gorgeous

infinity and prompts me to think about the universal and the faraway while I paint to convey my own emotions, ideas along with distant renderings

of the reality we inhabit. I feel like I am our galaxy’s guard dog, stationed at the door of a bijou jewellers on a tiny lane in Rome.

These works are large scale watercolour washes – something with gives me a lot of satisfaction during and after the process itself.
